A TRIBUTE TO CHILDREN AND PARENTHOOD SINCE 1961
BabyBjörn is a Swedish family-owned business founded by Björn Jakobson and his sister-in-law Elsa Jakobsson. In 1961, the very first baby bouncer was sold – a product that Björn instinctively knew families with young children would love!
The love story between Björn and textile designer and art director Lillemor has also shaped the company. They had four children together. Their love for each other and their children inspired the couple to create products that solved the everyday issues they encountered as parents of babies and toddlers.
BabyBjörn now operates in more than 50 countries and has its head office in Stockholm, Sweden.
From the very start, BabyBjörn has worked with the same core values: safety, quality and design. Björn and Lillemor’s incentive has always been their desire to make daily life easier and more fun for families with babies and toddlers, by offering functional, safe and quality products for children aged 0-3 years. This vision continues to permeate the entire company.
A child’s right to safety also underpins everything we do at BabyBjörn. We’re convinced that children who benefit from a lot of closeness develop into self-confident individuals.
‘Every day, babies all over the world are carried in BabyBjörn Baby Carriers, close to their parent’s heart. And every day, we get positive feedback from parents who love carrying their baby close to heart. Nothing makes me happier or prouder.’
Safety for children also involves living with healthy and happy parents, as well as having access to fresh air and clean water. That is why our sustainability work focuses on this in particular. We want to do everything we can to ensure that future generations of children grow up on a thriving planet. If you’d like to know more, you can read about our sustainability philosophy here.
We’re incredibly proud of the products we develop at BabyBjörn – there are thousands of hours of development, testing and consideration behind every new launch. That is why our products have soft contours that suit children, for example, and a simple, classic yet contemporary design. We want our products to be used for a long time, to be handed down from one child to the next, and to suit both mums and dads. This goes to show how everything we do at BabyBjörn is a tribute to both children and parents.
